Week 5: Rubrics for Assignments and Discussions

For my assignment this week, I created added rubrics to my assignments and discussions from the previous weeks.

Assignment Rubric:

The largest portion of learners’ grades in this course is their creation of a co-teaching plan with their co-teacher. This document is due at the end of the course and reflects learners’ proficiency in the concepts covered in the course. Most importantly, however, it should serve as a useful and meaningful document that co-teachers can collaborate on to ensure that their co-taught class runs smoothly throughout the year. While learners will be completing this weekly, it will be scored at the end of the course so that learners can add more to their responses as they progress in the course. However, the rubric is set up to align to the topics that learners will reflect on and complete in their plan each week.

Here you will see Week 1 of this assignment in my LMS. Unfortunately, because I am using Rise 360 as a trial, external links may not be available. If they are not available, here you will see the document that learners will complete and here you will see the Week 1 submission form. All directions and objectives are present in each of these documents. The rubric to the document is also here.

Discussions:

For each of my discussions, I used the program Parlay, which provides a robust discussion template where learners can seamlessly respond to each other. From an instructor standpoint, Parlay also does an excellent job communicating participation data.

You can access Discussion Prompt #1 in my LMS here. Here is the rubric to this discussion post. Due to the trial parameters of Rise 360, external links may not be available, so you can access the Parlay discussion prompt here.
